My orientation is psychodynamic and my approach a mixture
of insight-oriented, object-relations, ego-supportive and cognitive behavioral techniques. I believe in finding the
approach which best fits each particular client. Areas of specialization include: relationship issues, family of origin issues, separation-individuation throughout the life cycle, parenting, adolescence-middlescence, post traumatic stress, depression, workplace abuse and trauma, psychological
violence and trauma, bullying, relationship abuse, autism, social skills training, grief counseling, assertiveness training,
self-esteem.
-Couples Psychotherapy
My theoretical approach draws from Imago Relationship Therapy . The theory
is based on the premise that childhood experiences form and unconscious image or imago.
Unconscious images play a powerful role in the formation of identity and choice of partner selection. The unconscious forces
that attract us to our partner are also the source of conflicts and power struggles that develop in committed relationships.
Imago Relationship Therapy is an approach for helping couples learn how to heal rather than hurt by becoming conscious of
the childhood wounds that influence patterns of perception and behavior.
